Creating Your First Pin

Pinterest puts a huge emphasis on consistent daily pinning of FRESH content. The suggested maximum pin frequency is up to 25 pins per day using a mix of your own brand-new pins and current pins from other pinners.

TIPS:

Do not use images found in Google and of unknown origin. Instead, use your own images whenever you can.

You can also use free or paid stock images from websites but always save the source link to where you obtained the image. Occasionally, Pinterest may ask for proof that you have the right to use the image. If this happens, simply provide the appropriate source link.

When re-pinning other people’s content, be sure that their links take you to a safe and trusted source.

When creating pins, pinning other people’s content, and in advertising, it is important that you adhere to Pinterest best practices, policies, and guidelines. NEVER copy other people's pin image, pin title or description, board, or profile description.

How To Perform Key Word Search

Using Canva to Create a Pin & Cover Photo

Disclaimer: The intent of this video is to demonstrate how to use Canva with Pinterest. THIS IS NOT A FULL CANVA TUTORIAL. Please go to canva.com to learn how to use Canva features.

Creating Your First Traffic Ad

Traffic ad increases the number of visits to your website. You pay only when someone clicks through to your site.

Definition of Broad Match

Broad match is the default match type that all your keywords are assigned. Ads may show on searches that include misspellings, synonyms, related searches, and other relevant variations. So if your keyword is “women’s hats,” someone searching for “buy ladies hats” as well as “women’s scarves” might see your ad. Learn more about broad match.

Definition of Phrase Match

Ads may show on searches that match a phrase, or close variations of that phrase, which may include additional words before or after. Ads will not show, however, if a word is added to the middle of the phrase that changes the meaning of the phrase. Phrase match is designated with quotation marks (“women’s hats”). Learn more About phrase match.

Definition of Exact Match

Ads may show on searches that match the exact term or are close variations of that exact term. Close variants include searches for keywords with the same meaning as the exact keywords, regardless of spelling or grammar differences between the query and the keyword. Exact match is designated with brackets ([red shoe]). Learn more About exact match.

Creating a Conversion Ad

Conversion ad drives people to take actions like lead and sign-up on your website.

Understanding Analytics

What To Do If a Pin or Ad is
Disapproved

The ad review process can take up to 24 hours and once it is approved, it will show up in the status column of your ad. Any edits after submitting for ad review will be re-submitted for review and restart the 24-hour process. If your Pin goes against advertising guidelines, you’ll receive a notification in your Ads Manager, as well as an email from the Pinterest ad review team with the reason for disapproval.

Pinterest does provide an opportunity to appeal a disapproved ad by reaching out to the support team, but it is advisable to review the advertising policies before submitting an appeal. An appeal must include the reason for the disapproval that you received, and the URLs to your disapproved ad.
