The capacity to learn is a gift …The ability to learn is a skill … The willingness to learn is a choice.

Instagram Marketing (Business Focus)

Instagram With A Business Focus

Create an Instagram Business Account and link it to Facebook Meta to reach a wider audience

ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR IG SETUP

Use the same profile photo as on your Facebook business page for consistency. Make sure this photo is a clear and professional photo showing your face and eyes (no sunglasses). DO NOT USE A LOGO.

Choose a category that best describes you: Entrepreneur, Business Consultant, or Public Figure.

Your bio: Have fun with this! Keep the wording short but tell your followers who you are in a few words and even use some fun emojis.

Link: DO NOT add your InCruises link. Instead, add the link to your Dream Team landing page.

Why? Because if they get a sneak peak of what company you work with, there’s nothing stopping them from Googling InCruises and finding someone farther up the ranks than you, to sign up under them instead. Another reason is because we want them to go to your landing page, so that your funnel can send them emails signed by you, to create curiosity and build a relationship. Also, we can best track them through the system.

IG POSTS & PHOTOS

Instagram is a VISUAL platform! (also known as IG, Insta and the Gram)
It’s all about striking, good quality, clear photos. You can even use the built-in filters they give you when you’re posting, but not all photos require a filter.

It’s ideal to let your IG photos speak for themselves WITHOUT text on them because they’re more appealing to the eye, as seen in these examples:

Filling your IG account with text heavy content makes your account look busy and spammy. Avoid posting in this manner:

(Zoom in on above image if required)

If you want to add text to photos, it’s best to keep them as the minority, and nice and clean like in this example. They’ll stand out and still remain tasteful, and the post becomes about the message.

(Zoom in on above image if required)

Don’t post every day. Posting on Instagram is not like Facebook where you need to post 3x a day. Over posting or even every day actually does not help in producing quality content or help your posts get seen by others on IG. So, what’s ideal? Posting around 3-5 times PER WEEK. Instagram is about visual media, quality over quantity. BUT like with all things, stay consistent on posting weekly.

What to post?

When it comes to the laptop lifestyle, and travel especially, think about what descriptive words come to your mind. Here’s just some…

Fun
Adventure
Culture
Happiness
Energy
Peace
Connection
People
Nature
Freedom

These are examples of things to keep in mind when you’re creating content! Posts need to illustrate and inspire these types of things!

MARKETING ON INSTAGRAM

The same approach applies – like on Facebook, we need to provide VALUE and BALANCE.

DO NOT post only or mostly about travel. It’s too broad and if you don’t post anything else, it will look like you’re a travel agency – which you are not.

What you CAN post:

Your Instagram account is about you and your lifestyle. You can emphasize vacationing but include a balance of other content as well to showcase who YOU are and what your brand is!

What is your life outside of travel? Your other interests and hobbies, your family (hint: family shots tend to get a LOT of engagement!), your WHY and business-related images.

What you CANNOT post

**IT’S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THE DO’S AND DON’T AROUND MARKETING, PLEASE LEARN THIS.

Examples of DON’TS:

The InCruises logo, the InCruises name or details of the program (we are using a comprehensive system, we are NOT promoting IC directly).

DO NOT use ‘’Paid to travel’’, ‘’travel for less’’ or ‘’travel for free’’ because InCruises are not a full service travel company and don’t include flights, train or other things that will be assumed with such phrases (substitute these for ‘’paid to vacation”, ‘’vacation for less’’ and ‘’vacation for free’’ instead).

DO NOT use ‘’50% off” or ‘’50% discount’’ vacations or cruises.   Never use any specific amounts or percentages.

SEE THE INCRUISES DOCUMENT “MARKETING POLICIES AT A GLANCE’’ in the Resources Section of your inCruise back office.

Don’t overload your stories with too many. You can add up to 10 at a time however adding 10+ or more often results in people not sticking around to watch all of them unless they line up to tell a story and are really engaging. Ideally, use 4-6.

**TIP:  When you publish your stories on IG you’ll see the option pop up asking if you want to share them directly to your Facebook business page stories as well with a click of a button. Or you can choose to leave them on IG only.

ORGANIC REACH TECHNIQUES
HOW TO GROW MORE FOLLOWERS

HASHTAGS

Hashtags are the little code words that link posts to people who are searching for those words.

Instagram has a limit of 30 hashtags per post, but you don’t need to use 30 to be effective. Using too many also looks spammy and can annoy your followers. Using less than 5 limits the number of searches in which your post will appear. The ideal post has around 10 good hashtags.

Mix some hashtags with larger number of follows with those with less follows. If you only add those with high numbers your post will be less likely to be seen.

(Zoom in on above image if required)

Use hashtags on EVERY post you do! Don’t ever waste an opportunity for reach.

Here’s why you want to use hashtags….

Some people will go to the search bar and just search by hashtags for content of their interest. It’s almost like a mini visual search engine in Instagram. For example, if someone searched #bali they could get all posts from various people who used #bali on their posts. It’s in this way you can get free organic new followers on your account!

There are thousands of hashtags available on Instagram. Type the # key and search for any words or short phrases that are relevant to your post, to find ideas.

NOTE: Hashtags in stories don’t work the same way as on a post, so strategically it’s not beneficial to add hashtags in your stories for reach.
